Masculinity and feminity

Hi guys!

April is the month of the suit. And it shows off. You see many editorials with women in suits.

It’s quite a hype this year. As well in magazines as on fashion partys as well on the catwalk. Coco Chanel and Giorgio Armani both started a collection women suits. Armani’s winter collection is therefore called : Garçonne. Most of all black and white collor designs. Masculine creations such as harlequin jackets, loose trousers, Pierrot collards and even braces were worn by female models! The feminine details are heads, ruffles, bracelets and clutches. The shoes were quite simple and flat.

Below some shots of Lina Zhang. She suits up in this cool and crisp editorial showcasing ‘Modern Tailoring’ for Vogue China. Shot by Lincoln Pilcher and fashion Editor: Morgan Pilcher .

What do you think? Cool and different style, you can make it look feminine with beautiful hair and makeup and elegant high heels. Or do you say no, because it’s doesn’t add anything to our status as woman.

I think it’s okay to wear a suit, but I prefer dresses. When I wear something manly I try to get it back in balance with something really feminine. Because I can’t feel a girl without anything feminine, I think it’s just a state of mind.

Next to masculinity there is feminity. And I found these greaaaat campaign pictures on Facebook, and I’m really sorry that I need to tell you that I didn’t find out what’s the designer of the dresses or any other information than that the photo’s were shot in Africa and it’s the A/W Africa 2013 collection. But when I find out you’ll definately hear.

What a little light can do, AMAZING! I was impressed by the white color lightening up in the sun. The dresses look so much more special. Nature and design clothes come together in simpelness and beauty. Harmony is the word that popped up immediately. I really love the silhouets and fabrics <3

See you around guys,

Catwalk Junkie

Hi there again!

Some time ago I bumped into a brand called: Catwalk Junkie. I immediately fell in love with this brand. On the first random shirt I grabbed the words: do what you love & love what you, were printed. On the next one: carpe that fucking diem (which means pluk de dag in Dutch). Catwalk Junkie uses quotes which I think are totally true and some of them were funny too. I also think it’s very creative, cause the designers cut, paste, tie-dyen and dipdyen. I found the print-tees at Jay’s. And after I went searching on the internet I found out that they also sell Catwalk Junkie online!!! http://www.fashionchick.nl/merken/569/catwalk-junkie/
For more stores and online shops go to their site: http://catwalkjunkie.wordpress.com/stores/webshops/

CONCEPT

For those who are addicted to fashion but weren’t born to follow.
Catwalk Junkie was founded by a group of friends searching for originality and a way to express themselves. Because they were collectively bored with the fashion industry they joined forces and started a new brand of their own. This brand combines attitude with style and creativity. Inspired by what they like from the catwalk, but driven by a strong understanding that they need to be original and different, they create a unique style of fashion for those who want to make a statement, without being a follower. Do you share this vision? Then join the addiction with Catwalk Junkie!

I LOVE IT! Be yourself, be special.

Enjoy your weekend!

You're only young once, so live life to the fullest

That's what I call a weekend break! That feeling when you’ve finished your exams and got a quite good feeling about it and then have a cocktailparty and sleepover with your friends, a great day paintballing with your classmates, a good evening with your family, a cozy birthday of your cousin, a fun cowboy & indian party with great people and a whole day at Outdoor Valley where we did archery, canoeing, mountainbiking and getting smutty by a survival course. Didn’t get that dirty as last time at Outdoor Valley! http://www.outdoorvalley.nl/

Today was a really awesome sunny day!

This weekend really shows how to live life to the fullest. Just enjoy every day like it’s your last, and enjoy the things you can do, because later on you might not be able to.

Here some pictures of this great weekend break. Enjoy your evening and live next week to the fullest!

Big Hair Day!

Today I was modelling for barber Hans Snels where Eline Hulspas did my hair and makeup for the Intercoiffure ‘Vision of the Elite’ award. She began at 12.00 and she finished at 15.30 so that sounds like a long sit, but it wasn't. We had fun and kept smiling.
Last year she was nominated with me as her model, really loved the look then.
And this time the look is even more awesome! Can’t put pictures of todays look yet, but when time’s right you’ll definitely see them.

Andd today I did something I had never done before, I let Eline dying my hair! Not that shocking fortunately, because it is dip dyed and you don’t really see the difference, because of my curls. It looks natural, and I love it J

Enjoy your (sunny) week <3

MW’s atelier party

Hi beauties !

I hope you all had a great Easter with family and friends? I’ve been able to keep myself under control, didn’t eat too much chocolate! (I have drunk a lot prosecco though…)

Today you will see two new posts, so stay tuned!

Yesterday, as I told, I was invited by a great designer and friend, Michelangelo Winklaar, to come to his new atelier. So I went to the openings party of his and Allan Vos’ new atelier in The Hague. It’s a great big place and as you can see in the pictures it was a nice party.

Michelangelo and Allan showed their collection last fashionweek F/W 2013 in Amsterdam. It was Michelangelo’s first time on the AFW but he showed off very well. I’ve been walking the catwalk for MW last year, and I see so much progression. This time I’ve fitted many dresses for him, 3 of the 8 and I really love his collection. It payed off as well, cause this year he’s going to show his collection in New York, Los Angeles and Dominican Republic! I’m very proud!

Michelangelo is always showing the independence of women in his collection. It’s about elegance and feminity (forms), but also about strength and the edgy side of women. MW uses handicraft, and he’s really good in that.

If you didn’t know him, now you do a bit. But go to his website to see his collection, because we will certainly hear more from him in the future! Keep an eye on.  http://michelangelowinklaar.nl/
